In recognition of Viva’s proprietary designs and leading product development in affordable housing an offshoot of Housing Tasmania has awarded Viva with 2 tenders to supply affordable housing for its tenants. Total number of dwellings in the tenders is over 360 with end value in the range of $75 to $85 million. FoundersMichael Ta, Co-founder and Director  | | Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Strategic Management & HR), Bachelor of Arts(Psychology), Master of Business Systems(Project Management), Diploma of Financial Services (PS146 Compliant) and is a licensed Real Estate Agent (VIC, NSW, TAS). Because of his unique eclectic knowledge base, Michael was highly sought after to project manage large I.T. implementations for various blue chip organisations including IBM, Telstra, KPMG and BearingPoint. In 2001, he co-founded Viva Properties with Greg Rips, where he utilised his strengths in systems and project management methodologies as a platform to develop a property development company geared to exploit the inherent inadequate servicing of the Affordable Housing niche. For over 7 years, Michael was instrumental in architecting Viva’s innovative project development systems that has enabled the group to profit from market arbitrage opportunities that existed throughout Australia. Under his stewardship, Viva has evolved into a leading housing provider well positioned to absorb an increasing market share of the affordable housing property segment in the future. |
Greg Rips, Co-founder and Director  | | Greg has formal qualifications and training in Building Processes / Technologies, Marketing, Business Development and has over 15 years experience in business management, property development and strategic planning. Greg is an expert in all operational aspects of business management and has developed a core knowledge set that enabled him to transform inefficient businesses into leaner, innovative and optimal operations that are ultimately designed to yield higher than industry average returns for all stakeholders involved. He co-founded Viva Properties with Michael Ta in 2001 and for over 7 years he has been actively involved in development and provision of affordable housing around Australia and New Zealand. Greg was the driving force behind the efficient and low cost housing design models that enabled Viva to grow from a home renovator to now one of Australia’s leading providers of affordable housing. |
